ABOUT ME

Marcelo Isarrualde was born in 1961 in Montevideo, Uruguay.

After graduating in Architecture in Montevideo in 1987, he moved to New York to complete his academic education at Columbia University with the support of the prestigious Fulbright Advanced Research Award grant.

He moved to Barcelona in 1992, and that same year began to work as a press photographer for renowned Spanish newspapers such as La Vanguardia. Since then, he has collaborated with a number of prestigious advertising agencies, multinational companies and several magazines.

Between 2000 and 2007 he was director of the photography department at Hymsa/Edipresse Editorial Group in Barcelona, and he is currently a freelance photographer for various editorial and publishing companies. Specialized in portraiture and reportage, he also undertakes assignments for advertising companies.

As well as commissioned works, over the course of his career Marcelo has produced numerous independent personal projects. His photographs have been displayed in Montevideo, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Medellín, Caracas, Havana, New York, Madrid and Barcelona. Besides having been published in specialized media, he has works in private and public collections in Uruguay, the United States and Spain.
