What is the limit where the body merges with object? Where does erotic excitement begin through the talisman or fetish object? When does an individual deviate from the norm? Social conventions which prevail in a particular moment, or a certain space, can make something which was perhaps previously accepted become a taboo, forbidden and un-said, placing the idea within both a hidden, and a desired place.

Stiletto’s photography series is linked to the idea of watching and focusing on the idea of desire and exhibitionism – where the paraphernalia is so often even more important than the subject itself: sex. It is related to that place where the search, for pleasure is sometimes achieved by a look, placing the spectator in the fragile, yet exciting position of «voyeur par excellence»(1). Because of its voyeuristic nature the photographer and the subject are in synergy, and in the same place. In this space we are all part of the same cycle.

Another aspect of this project relates to the idea of power. Sexual practices and likings can lead to what is called conventional extreme sexuality. This is the case of BDSM(2): the participants build, willingly and starting from a consensual situation, relationships with a strong transfer of power in which the dominant-active and the submissive or passive play the main roles. What can be found behind these practices? Maybe those who are involved in them are able to understand something that other people prefer not to know about themselves.

This is a project about facts that surround sex, not about sex… an unusual combination of innocence and perversion, love and solitude, beauty and repression. We don’t know everything that could be known about the world, nor about our role in it. The aim of this series is to inquire into its nearby mysteries.

¿ Cuál es el límite donde el cuerpo se funde con el objeto ? ¿ Dónde empieza la excitación erótica a través del talismán u objeto fetiche ? ¿ Cuando el sujeto se aleja de la norma ?  Las convenciones sociales imperantes en un momento y lugar determinados  hacen que algo se convierta en  tabú, que esté prohibido hacer o decir algo, lo que sitúa la idea en un lugar oculto y deseado al mismo tiempo.

La serie Stiletto se vincula a la idea de mirar, centrada en el deseo, el exhibicionismo y donde la parafernalia es tan importante o más que el asunto: el sexo. Se vincula también a ese lugar donde la búsqueda del placer a veces solo puede ser alcanzada por la mirada;  que sitúa al espectador en la delicada, y al mismo tiempo excitante, postura del voyeur par excellence(1), que coloca al fotógrafo – por su naturaleza voyeurista – y al sujeto fotografiado en un mismo lugar. Donde todos formamos parte del mismo ciclo.

Otro aspecto del proyecto se relaciona a la idea del poder. Las prácticas y aficiones sexuales pueden llegar a lo que se denomina sexualidad extrema convencional. Este es el caso del BDSM(2) donde los participantes construyen, de forma voluntaria y partiendo de una situación de consenso, relaciones con marcado traspaso de poderes, donde se reparten los roles entre el dominante –activo y el sumiso o pasivo. ¿ Qué hay detrás de éstas prácticas ?  Quizás quienes las practican comprenden algo que los demás no quieren saber sobre si mismos…

Este es un proyecto sobre lo que rodea al sexo, no sobre sexo…, una insólita mezcla de inocencia y perversión, amor y soledad, belleza y represión. No sabemos todo lo que se puede saber sobre el mundo, ni nuestro papel dentro de él. Indagar en los misterios cercanos es la intención de esta serie.
